Std X students score over 100%
Only few students can dream of scoring 100% marks in any examination. However, with the introduction of the percentile system, the impossible has become possible.
Some examples: Akshay Murarka 103.661%, Mohajit Arneja 101.926%, Neha Singh 101.231% and… Unbelievable? But these are not just plain numbers but percentile of toppers in the merit list of standard XI admissions announced on Wednesday.
The merit list of bifocal courses this year seems highly unusual and different as compared to all previous years since the centralised admission procedure began in the year 2000. Thanks to the new percentile system, implemented by the state government, the students percentages have surpassed even the magical 100% mark.
The percentile method is basically devised to bring at par the students of all three boards, i.e. ICSE, CBSE and the state.
